SEO & Online Marketing MeetingsWith the demise of ThreadWatch and the move away from public forums to personal blogs and private forums, there is a need for a place where SEOers and online marketing people can find out who is meeting where, when and the nature of that event, ie big paid-for conferences or smaller, more personal "unofficial" meets. SeoCircuit was created to meet this need. So, whether you are looking to organise a meeting for 100 like-minded individuals over a few pints, or whether you are at a loose-end after a business trip and just want to avoid sitting in a strange hotel in a strange city - this forum welcomes your post. If you wish to organise a "fringe" meeting as an extra to your attending a large conference - this is the place to post. |

| Conferences and Paid Meetings - Discussion General discussion on those big commercial meetings and conferences that are not free to attend. If you want to arrange or discuss 'fringe' meetings before adding them to the calendar, do it here. |

I'll be there and would be happy to get together for a few drinks Thursday night.
DaveN is supposed to be speaking at the event. http://www.domainfocus.org/ |

Okay - so I got to present SEO to people who don't know the subject - together with JasonD and gerbot - domain conferences are a great opportunity for SEOs looking for work in the future.

There seems to be a lot of whinging about the event, but I will defend it:
£79 is absolutely nothing for 2 days, there is no way they could have made cash even with sponsorship. There were so many of the players in the industry It was the first one ever event and hence there were going to be teething problems David some people dont like and he messed up some stuff, now he has gone. About £500K worth of domains sold due directly and indirectly because of the event. The networking was worth a fortune in itself. Well done Alan for having the balls to stand up and be counted and setup the event. If people keep wanting to get £79's back then I doubt anyone is going to run another one. Obvioulsy you can whinge and claim back your cash, but if you are going to do this then please go and setup an event yourself, I will be more than happy to turn up and pay you £79 for some great networking. I didn't attend, but I am with you on this one Doug
I can't see the problem - £79 is less than a decent hotel room for the night. If someone can't afford £79 to attend a meeting of this sort, then arguably they shouldn't really be attending. My guess is that the complainers are those who can't, or won't, network. Like all these meetings, you get out of it what you put in. |

Well worth the money - yes a few teething troubles as it was the first event, but overall a grat networking opportunity.
