SEO & Online Marketing Meetings

With the demise of ThreadWatch and the move away from public forums to personal blogs and private forums, there is a need for a place where SEOers and online marketing people can find out who is meeting where, when and the nature of that event, ie big paid-for conferences or smaller, more personal "unofficial" meets.

SeoCircuit was created to meet this need.

So, whether you are looking to organise a meeting for 100 like-minded individuals over a few pints, or whether you are at a loose-end after a business trip and just want to avoid sitting in a strange hotel in a strange city - this forum welcomes your post.

If you wish to organise a "fringe" meeting as an extra to your attending a large conference - this is the place to post.

Default The Smelly Fish Technique for Organising SEO Meetings

Trying to organise a bunch of SEOs to do anything in unison has been described as 'trying to herd cats'.

You can't do it.
Cats won't be herded.

What you can do is throw a load of smelly fish where you want the cats to assemble, and if the fish are smelly enough you'll be beating cats off with a shitty-stick.

So, here is 4Eyes' 'Smelly Fish' technique for getting a meeting off the ground.

Don't post in a forum asking for 'suggestions' on a good date and venue - you'll end up with as many suggested dates and venues as there are members of the forum. No consensus will be reached and no meeting will happen

Instead get in touch with 4 or 5 mates that you know will be up for a meeting and agree a venue and date with them, making sure the agreed venue includes good food and drink.

Now post in the forum with your 'pile of smelly fish', being the promise of some good beer, a decent restaurant and a guaranteed group of attendees.

Thats it.

Now you have no excuses, right?

Worst that can happen, 4 of you have a great meal and get drunk.

Best that can happen is that you get loads of kudos for being an ace organiser and people buy you beers all night.
(its not a hint, just an observation, but feel free anyway)
